WordStudy: Immanuel

"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us" (Matthew 1:23 NIV).

During this Christmas season, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, let's focus once again on His Name, "Immanuel"--"God with us." I pray God will reveal Himself to you in a powerful new way as you worship Him this Christmas.

1. Research "Immanuel” in God’s Word.

2. Choose one of the scriptures you find and write it down; then, read it out loud.

3. In 1-2 sentences, write what you think the scripture means.

4. In 1-3 paragraphs, try to connect with the scripture. What did you think about as you read the passage? A life experiences (yours or someone else’s)? A life lesson? Another scripture or biblical truth? Something else?

5. Post your insights as a comment to this blog post.

WordStudy: "The Word"

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1).

As we approach this Christmas season and celebrate the birth of Christ, take time to focus on "The Word." May God give you new insight as you search His Word for more truth and revelation about His Son, "The Word."
