  1. "…God's kindness leads you toward repentance" (Romans 2:4).

Yes, God is the One Who leads us to repentance—God and His kindness. Even though He sometimes uses another person or situation to get our attention, God always orchestrates the circumstances that lead us to repentance.

And what does God use to brings true repentance? 1 Corinthians 7:10 says, “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.”

Often I’ve experienced extreme sorrow and brokenness with repentance. And I’ve always felt regret about my failures, especially the consequences of my mistakes. But I’ve never been disappointed in the results of true repentance in my life--the hope, the freedom, and the peace.
